Izaac – 14 Months and walking

3 weeks after Izaac turned one - he took his first steps on his own. It's just been the cutest thing to watch. He loved to walk with his wagon or his scooter - and he was persistent. Now, he just loves getting up on his own and walking. He puts his hands on his chest as he walks, which is so cute, looking like a professor.

We went out last night and he just went off on his own with no concern of losing us. What a concern! Oh how things change continually.

Little milestones

Izaac is just beginning to learn to throw/roll a ball. Too cute. And, of course, he thinks it's the funniest thing ever. He'll throw the ball, then run after and chase it - laughing away. Keeps him entertained for ages. We're trying to teach him to 'throw to Daddy', then 'throw to Mummy'. But it will come .... I'll try upload a photo/movie soon.

Izaacs first birthday - 25 May 2008

Yes our little boy is now a One Year old! We had the most wonderful "Tea Party" for him. It was so cute. The littlies around the table, trying to pour the milk or water into their cups - it went everywhere, drinking from their cups and the excitement of these bright cupcakes infront of them.

Izaac was just in his element - he had so much fun. Izaac and Lucy were the last ones standing - still going for it after the others had wondered off. It was lovely just having a few of Izaacs friends there and seeing what develops over the years. We also loved having friends around us, that meant so much to us.

Izaac 10 Months

I've so enjoyed Izaac becoming so agile in his crawling and being mobile. He is just so cute and he loves his new found freedom.

Izaac 9 months - watch me fly ...

Here is Izaac doing his amazing, fast commando crawling. At one stage, I was wondering if he was actually going to creep on his hands and knees, as he was so good at crawling.

Fridge door photos

Currently these are the photos on our fridge door. Izaac loves to look at them and laughs and smiles when I go through them with him.

Birth photo

The classic birth photo. As the birth centre, where Izaac was born, encourages low lighting, it was really difficult to get good shots - as I hate using a flash. Also, I wouldn't use a flash near my new bubbie. Seeing this photo, seems like such a world away. In the photo, besides our new little bundle, we have my dearest friend, Linda (next to Rod) - who was our helper and support during the birth. Then we have Melissa, our amazing and wonderful midwife. Mel, so understood the type of birth and wanted and went to the nth degree to ensure that it happened. She was just amazing.

Family holiday - Port Stephens

This is one family picture we have. It was a pretty special moment. We had just spent the day together. We ended up at the wharf, had a beer together, laughed, relaxed and looked over a beautiful bay, just enjoying being a family and having our boy. These young japanese tourists offered to take our photo - which we so appreciated.
I love how big and strong Rod's hand over Izaac looks. I think Izaac will have Rod's strong hands.

Bathtime Cutie

Just before Izaac turned five months, this photo was taken. I had just plonked him into the rocker, to get some nudie shots before having his bath. I had no idea I would get such a great shot.

Dad and Son

Just a lovely photo of Rod and Izaac. The colour isn't fantastic, but I love both their smiles. Also, it was taken in the morning, so there was a lovely light coming through the window. Izaac was five months here.

Breastfeeding

My friend, Karen took this shot for me, when we went to a Woman's Conference in Sydney. I had wanted a photo of Izaac breastfeeding, but just hadn't got the "right shot" yet. Karen caught exactly what I wanted, the moment, the look.

Mum and bub

On our Port Stephen's holiday, this picture Rod took of us, on our walk along the beach. I just love this shot.

So much has happened this past month with Izaac. He now fully stands against items, he got his two botton teeth and his one top one has just come through - just in time for eight months. His commando crawling is like a lizard across the ground, he goes so fast. I wonder if he will even bother trying to crawl on his knees, he is so efficient with his current crawl.

We've been sick these past 3 weeks and I've started work. So Izaac has also had quite a bit of stress dealing with these changes - so you might notice that he has actually lost some weight.

Here is a slide show of some more photo's.

Izaac spends time with Uncle Jono

Our good friend, Jono came home to Canberra for a few weeks - where we spent some good quality time together.

One afternoon, along with Jono, Tash and her adorable clan, we went along to the Dickson pools. We had such a good time, passing bubs around to each other.

Izaac - from tummy to crawling to kneeling ...

Our little Izaac is just growing so quick! These last two months we've seen just so much growth, changes. Just before Christmas, he went quickly from lying on his tummy (his favourite position) - to going around and around in circles, to a one footed crawl.

Around Christmas he just started commando crawling. He goes from one side of the room to the other in seconds. I'm so proud of him, because the stage of crawling has been the one stage that I have wanted for his physical development.

My favorite is when I'm on the ground and he comes crawling up to me for cuddles. He climbs up my legs and starts scrambling up my tummy to chest to reach me. Izaac now has the ability to display when he wants to respond in love, himself. It's just so cute.

Commando Crawling

Here is a video of Izaac commando crawling with Monty giving him "head butts".

Look Mummy & Daddy - I'm kneeling

These pictures are of Izaac's last day in his cradle. We walked in and our little man was kneeling on his knees. Obviously he was very proud of his new skill and was laughing away.

This is also one of the biggest dilemmas in putting Izaac to sleep - he loves to smile and laugh - which is obviously too adorable. He is such a happy little boy. Has a smile for everyone.

In this video, you can hear Izaac also saying "Ma, Ma." His first word!
